Rosetta Stone Flashcards Help Build Your Vocabulary and Your Conversation Confidence

There’s a reason flashcards have held on as a popular study aid for learners of all ages and all subjects! They help with recognition and recall: two important factors in retaining information. With Rosetta Stone’s collection of over 500 topics for each of the 25 languages, you can focus on learning the words that are most important to you. It’s a fun way to translate your real life into new languages.

How do Rosetta Stone Flashcards work?

Our Flashcards are digital, customizable cards you can use to learn new vocabulary or quiz yourself quickly.

  1. From the app, navigate to Explore and then Flashcards. From the web, navigate to the Flashcards landing page.
  2. Be sure your target language is selected from the menu.
  3. Browse the categories and lists of Flashcards, and select the one that interests you.
  4. You’ll be taken to the first flashcard in the set automatically.

From there, interacting with the flashcards is easy and intuitive. You can use the left and right arrows to move through the flashcards. There are around 12 flashcards per set. If you click on a flashcard, it will flip to the other side. You can also click on the speaker icon from either side of the flashcard to hear the word spoken aloud.

Once you select a flashcard set, you can view it in any of the 25 languages right from the set!

How to customize elements of the flashcards

You can select the settings icon (a gear) to decide which elements appear on each side of the flashcards in the current set.

As your skill level progresses, you can choose whether or not to include:

  • Front side image
  • Front side audio
  • Front side English word
  • Back side image
  • Back side audio
  • Back side target language word

These choices can be reset at any time.

How to use Flashcards from Rosetta Stone

Aside from your standard use, there are more ways to use the flashcards. Below the flashcard, you can see the entire list of words in the set with audio. So, beginners could start by looking at and listening to each word before quizzing themselves. If you really want to test yourself, you can use the Shuffle option to rearrange the order of the flashcards.

When you’ve found your favorite Flashcards, use the Share button to show your friends, so they can try them, too!
