How to use Sapphire Studio
Sapphire Studio is easy to use for any Rosetta Stone member. Navigate to Sapphire Studio, and you’ll see the list of all available tools. Simply pick the resource that matches your learning style and goals, enter key information, and Sapphire Studio creates your resource instantly. You can edit your resources any time during the process.
What can I create in Rosetta Stone’s Sapphire Studio?
To keep your learning experience interesting and up-to-date with your current skill level, six customizable resources in Sapphire Studio are available in all 25 languages. Whether you’re looking for help writing an email to your German colleague or trying to master rugby terms in French, there’s a feature for that. And, every resource you create is automatically saved in the My Resources section of Sapphire Studio, so you can go back and use it again and again.
Matching games
If you love review games, a make-your-own matching game is the resource for you! Based on the topic you enter, Sapphire Studio generates a vocabulary list and then turns it into an interactive matching game. If you want to change the vocabulary list, you can either edit the words or select Generate to get a new list.
Select Launch Game to get an interactive view. The game will show you a card for each word from the vocabulary list in English and in your target language. Simply click on the word in English and then the corresponding word in your target language to match the cards.
Flashcards
There are endless ways to use Rosetta Stone’s 500+ Flashcard sets for each of the 25 languages. But if you need to learn about an ultra-niche topic, like Russian crochet terms, creating your own flashcard set can come in clutch. Learning a new set of words is quick and easy when you create customized flashcards for any topic you can imagine. And, once you’ve learned all the words, you can use the flashcards for review any time you need a refresher.
Just enter the topic you want to practice, and you’ll get a vocabulary list along with a set of flashcards where each shows the English word on one side and the word in your target language on the other. Click on a flashcard to flip it over, and use the arrows to move between flashcards.
Vocabulary lists
If you want to learn to talk about a unique topic, a custom vocabulary list can be your best friend—and the possibilities are endless. Enter the category of words you want to practice, and you’ll get a list of relevant vocabulary words in English and your target language.
Adapted texts
If you’re immersing yourself in learning, you might be trying to read articles or other content in your target language. If you come across a text that feels a little more advanced than your current skill level, the Adapted Text tool can help adjust that text to meet you where you’re at.
You’ll paste in the text (either in the translated English or your target language) you want to read and select your language level from Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. Sapphire Studio will rewrite the text in your target language at your selected skill level by adjusting components like vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure.
Reading guides
When you’re ready to challenge yourself with reading practice in a new language, it can be helpful to break longer texts into more manageable components. Paste in the text in your target language and select your language level from Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. The text will be broken down into sections that each include a reading comprehension question. You’ll also get a list of important vocabulary words and grammar structures that appear in the text.
Email drafts
Whether you’re learning a language for a new job or to book a reservation in a new country, writing emails is an important form of communication to learn. This resource writes an email in your target language and explains key phrases to help you learn to craft your own messages with confidence.
All you need to enter is who the email is for and what it’s about. From there, you’ll get a full email draft in your target language, explanations of key phrases used, and an English translation. This helps you deepen your understanding of the language as you learn to use appropriate greetings, tone, and situational phrases.
